Delicious, no dairy, and no gluten. This freshly made replica of a unique Thai flavoured sauce I make all the time. Put it all in a blender, blitz, and you’re done!

Personally, I really struggle with ingredients often used in Asian cooking such as tamari, coconut aminos, fish sauce, etc when it comes to my stomach. So as much as I love it, I can’t eat it. After moaning, god knows how many times about how much I was craving Thai or Chinese food, my friend finally gave in, and being the chef he is created this sauce for me. I really crave Thai and Chinese flavours, so this way I still get the fragrant taste of Asian food without moaning about it to him.

Shopping List

  • 1/4 Birdseye chilli
  • 1 large handful of fresh basil (10g – 15g)
  • 1 large handful of fresh coriander (10g – 15g)
  • 1/4 chicken or vegetable stock cube
  • Small bit of boiling water just to cover and melt the stock cube
  • 1.5 tsp Chinese 5 spice
  • 1/2 tsp dried turmeric
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 inch of fresh ginger – peeled and grated
  • 1 spring onion
  • 1 lime – juiced
  • 1/4 tsp honey
  • Dash of olive oil to loosen the noodles more – optional

Can this be made dairy free?

Yes this is naturally dairy free. Make sure to check the following.

  • Chicken or vegetable Knorr stock pot or another dairy free stock cube such as Kallo or Knorr stock cubes

Note!

As far as I know the herb infusion Knorr stock pots are not gluten free. Let me know if I’m mistaken and make sure to check the ingredients when buying.

You’ll need a high-powered blender such as a Ninja to blitz the sauce smoothly. Warm it up in a pan with your cooked noodles or whatever you’re serving it with, toss, and enjoy!
